This is not the first such incident. However, neither our fighters nor our people have ever feared these brutal methods; on the contrary, they have transformed them into a source of strength in their struggle to build freedom.

Women fighters of the Internal Security Forces continue to wage a great resistance against the jihadist mentality adopted by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and the Turkish-backed mercenary groups in the ongoing Battle of Aleppo. Throughout the Revolution of North and East Syria, women fighting for freedom have consistently been a source of fear and terror for the bloodthirsty enemy. Despite all inhumane attacks, women who fight for freedom have never surrendered. In the culture of North and East Syria and the Middle East, the dignity of women is the dignity of the people. For this reason, the occupying mercenary groups seek to shatter the people’s hopes through immoral and unethical methods of warfare.

Women’s Defense Forces, in particular, have never retreated from their goal of achieving peace. Once again, we recall the steadfast resistance of Barin Kobani, Amara Renas, and Amarki Jiya—pioneering fighters who chose resistance despite all brutal and inhumane attacks. Today, women fighters of the Internal Security Forces continue to follow this very path.

We, in the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), consider ourselves responsible for protecting all women in Syria and around the world. We strongly condemn these inhumane acts and call for an end to all violations of the dignity of women and peoples. In order to uphold the legacy of all the martyrs of the revolution and the martyrs of Aleppo—such as Delbrîn, Feraşîn, Deniz, Rojbîn, and Hawar—who sacrificed their lives, we reaffirm our commitment so that the resistance may prevail.

General Command of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ)

                                                                         10 January 2026

According to circulating information, the body of one of the fighters of the Internal Security Forces has been subjected to inhumane torture.
