<\/p>\nThe Rojava Revolution has witnessed a profound struggle for freedom, during which many brave women have emerged. This revolution has established a social philosophy centered on women\u2019s freedom. Girls and boys who have grown up with this understanding embrace a culture of patriotism and live by its values. Therefore, the attacks against the Rojava Revolution are not merely military assaults, but attempts to break the will of women and of peoples. Yet history has always borne witness to women who remained loyal to their land and their people in the face of such vile schemes. Among these courageous women are fighters such as Ciyag\u00een and Arj\u00een, who regarded the defense of their homeland and the achievements of the revolution as a fundamental duty and stepped forward to lead.<\/p>\n
Our comrades Ciyag\u00een and Arj\u00een Koban\u00ee joined the caravan of immortals on 18 January 2026 in Raqqa, fighting against the mercenaries of the interim government in Damascus in order to prevent the destabilization of the region and to protect the gains of its people.<\/p>\n
Our comrades Ciyag\u00een and Arj\u00een are from the city of Koban\u00ee, the city of historic resistance. Undoubtedly, witnessing the resistance of Koban\u00ee at a young age had a profound impact on their choices, which led them to join the ranks of the Women\u2019s Protection Units (YPJ). Within its ranks, they struggled with courage, selflessness, and heroism for their people\u2019s right to a free life in all spheres.<\/p>\n
Our comrade R\u00eanaz Elaedd\u00een Koro, known by the nom de guerre Ciyag\u00een Koban\u00ee, was born into a patriotic family in Koban\u00ee. The culture of patriotism instilled in her family nurtured a strong sense of national responsibility. Her sister, Siyag\u00een, also joined the ranks of the martyrs in Raqqa on the same day, 18 January 2026, and we had previously announced the news of her martyrdom to our people. The brother of our comrade Ciyag\u00een also fell martyr during the historic resistance of Koban\u00ee in 2015. Ciyag\u00een grew up within this noble family. She was active and creative, always at the forefront in protecting the legacy of struggle. Ciyag\u00een raised the banner of freedom with great determination, devotion, and resolve until her final breath. In the person of Ciyag\u00een, our martyrs sacrifice their lives for their homeland. Her determination stands as an example in the pursuit of a dignified life for all women and peoples.<\/p>\n
Our comrade Arj\u00een Koban\u00ee also joined the ranks of the Women\u2019s Protection Units (YPJ) to put into practice the model of woman, life, freedom. With steadfastness, she remained loyal to the defense of the homeland in fulfilling her duties. As a young woman, she took her place without hesitation in the front lines of resistance, defending the existence and identity of the people against the plots of gangs. With her firm stance, humility, and courage, she adhered to the principles of freedom and devoted her life to serving her people on that basis.<\/p>\n
Our comrades Ciyag\u00een Koban\u00ee and Arj\u00een Koban\u00ee will remain immortal in collective memory as symbols of women\u2019s resistance and the people\u2019s will. Throughout history, heroes have sacrificed their lives for the freedom of their peoples, yet the heroism witnessed on our land is unparalleled.<\/p>\n
We extend our deepest condolences, first and foremost, to the esteemed families of our comrades Ciyag\u00een and Arj\u00een, and to all our patriotic people. The struggle and determination of our comrades Ciyag\u00een and Arj\u00een represent the highest meanings of patriotism among Kurdish women. As the Women\u2019s Defense Units, we promise to fulfill the goals of our martyrs. We will continue our struggle with all our strength to ensure their dreams are realized.<\/p>\n
