Hundreds of residents from the cities of Derik and Karaki Laki attended the funeral of the two female martyrs of freedom, Solin and Roken, and the martyr Mitan, as they were laid to rest at the Martyr Xebat Derik Cemetery.<\/p>\n
The funeral procession set off from Martyr Hoger Hospital in Derik and headed toward the Martyr Xebat Derik Cemetery. Members and leaders of the Women’s Protection Units, along with civil institutions, participated in the ceremony.<\/p>\n
The began with a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs, followed by a speech delivered by Saber Nazir, a member of the Martyrs’ Families Council. He offered condolences to the families and said:<\/p>\n
“Comrade Solin was the only child of her family. After the martyrdom of her uncle, she bravely joined the ranks of the freedom fighters to avenge all martyrs and to protect her people. Her family was her strongest support, helping her continue her struggle until she attained martyrdom.”<\/p>\n
Viyan Lazgin, a commander in the Women’s Protection Units, also delivered a speech, stating:<\/p>\n
“We are proud of our heroic martyrs who sacrificed themselves for this land. Martyr Roken came from Bakur Kurdistan to Rojava to protect her people. Likewise, martyr Solin refused to remain at home while her people were being martyred for freedom. With the support of her family, she joined the ranks of freedom and fought bravely until she reached martyrdom. As for comrade Mitan, he never accepted surrender. He always insisted on staying on the frontlines, putting himself in danger to protect his comrades, and never retreated until his last breath. We are proud of such martyrs. We offer our condolences to their families and say: Hold your heads high\u2014your children are the pride of this homeland.”<\/p>\n
At the end of the ceremony, Solin\u2019s father said:<\/p>\n
“I always hold my head high for my daughter\u2019s martyrdom. I tell her comrades to remain strong, as she used to say there is no difference between her and her comrades. If you love me, love them all, because I would never leave them no matter the cost.”<\/p>\n
The ceremony concluded with the reading of the martyrs\u2019 documents, after which their bodies were laid to rest at the Martyr Xebat Derik Cemetery.<\/p>\n
