Today, the people of Kobani laid to rest the bodies of 18 martyrs, following their transfer from the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Manbij to the Martyr Dijlah Cemetery in Kobani, where they were buried.
The funeral ceremony was attended by members of civil institutions, military forces, the families of the martyrs, and hundreds of local residents. The ceremony began with a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs, followed by a military parade commemorating their sacrifice.
During the ceremony, Delbrîn Kobani, a commander of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) in Kobani, extended her condolences to the families of the martyrs, stating:
“Our martyrs chose the path of freedom and struggle, resisting the enemy until their very last breath. Thanks to their struggle and resistance, our people are able to live with dignity today. As the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), we will further intensify our struggle. Our will is unbreakable, and we will remain steadfast, standing firm in resistance until victory is achieved.”
She also renewed the pledge to the martyrs, saying:
“We will follow your path and continue your journey.”
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the martyrs’ certificates were read aloud and presented to their families before the bodies of the 18 martyrs were laid to rest. The ceremony ended with participants chanting slogans honoring the martyrs and reaffirming their commitment to resistance, including:
“Martyrs Never Die” and “Resistance Is Life.”
