A funeral and burial ceremony for two martyrs who fell in the battles of Manbij was held today in the city of Kobanê, at Martyr Dicle Cemetery, in the presence of hundreds of residents of Kobanê, as well as the families of the two martyrs and representatives of the military forces and the Internal Security Forces.
The ceremony began with a minute of silence in honor and respect for the souls of the two martyrs. This was followed by a speech delivered by Arîn Kobanê on behalf of the Internal Security Forces in Kobanê. She said:
“Today, we bid farewell to our two heroic martyrs with great pride and honor. They gave their lives in defense of the dignity of our people and the values of our revolution. Their sacrifices and struggle will remain present in every inch of Kobanê, and they will live forever in the memory of our people.”
Concluding her speech, Arîn Kobanê affirmed that their path would continue in the footsteps of the martyrs until a free and democratic Syria is built, where the rights of all its communities are protected and their freedoms respected.
At the end of the ceremony, the martyrs’ certificates were read and handed over to their families. Their bodies were then carried on the shoulders of their comrades amid chants of “Martyrs never die,” and they were laid to rest at Martyr Dicle Cemetery.
