To Our People and the Public

Our comrades Amara, Berjem, Delbak, and Hasrat joined the ranks of the immortal in 2016. They embraced the cause of freedom with profound devotion and made their ultimate sacrifice in the campaigns to liberate our homeland. We remember them with love and respect, and we extend our condolences to their patriotic families, our people, and all their fellow comrades. We will always honor the memory of our martyrs and carry forth their struggle with renewed vigor.
Our struggle has achieved great victories through immense sacrifices. Each revolutionary value we have reached was born from these profound sacrifices. In every triumph, our heroines like Amara, Berjem, Delbak, and Hasrat played an irreplaceable role. We will forever remain indebted to our fallen martyrs and continue their path, fighting at the highest levels to secure victory.
Our four heroic fighters—Amara, Berjem, Delbak, and Hasrat—by giving their lives, have become bright stars in our struggle. History will forever remember their names in the journey of women’s struggle and the freedom of the people.
Comrade Amara Roj (real name Dolat Khan Arol) was born into a patriotic family in Gulmerk, raised on a culture of national values and a deep-rooted sense of freedom. When the war intensified in Rojava, she joined the revolution with great responsibility. In 2013, she joined the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ). When the ISIS terrorist factions attacked Shengal, Comrade Amara took her place on the frontlines to liberate Yazidi women from these brutal massacres and fought valiantly against ISIS mercenaries in the battles of Hasakah and Jazaa, thereby protecting her homeland. On June 21, 2016, she was martyred in fierce combat, earning her place among the immortals of history.
Wherever Comrade Amara Roj was, she was known for her bright smile, courage, and the love her comrades had for her. She held strong ideological convictions, drawing strength from the fight for people’s freedom. She took the ideology of women’s liberation as her foundation in life, with unwavering principles, confidence, and ambition. Until her last breath, she remained true to these values, and in doing so, she will forever live on in the memory of her fellow comrades.
Comrade Berjem Amed (real name Jamila Jinar) was born in the heart of Kurdistan, in Amed. She was raised with a legacy of resistance, and from a young age, she witnessed the powerful struggle for freedom, which left a deep impact on her. Her homeland’s painful history stirred feelings of vengeance in her. In the historical moments she lived through, she united her thoughts and emotions, and in 2015, she joined the ranks of the struggle for a free future. Despite her brief years within the revolution, she became a symbol of true fighters and genuine comradeship. On February 24, 2016, our comrade Berjem Amed ascended to the ranks of the eternal heroes in the campaign to liberate the Tishrin Dam.
Comrade Delbak Judi (real name Esra Alim) was born into a patriotic family who had migrated to Antalya in Turkey due to war conditions and the pressures of the enemy. Although they were away from their homeland, Delbak’s family remained steadfast in their culture, traditions, and love for the homeland, raising their daughter with this awareness. Delbak Judi became acquainted with revolutionary ideas and the struggle for freedom as a child. She always dreamed of becoming a revolutionary and fighting for her people’s freedom. In 2015, determined to make this dream a reality, she joined the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ). Despite her short time in the ranks of freedom, her discipline, intelligence, and combat on the frontlines were immense. On June 4, 2016, our comrade Delbak was martyred in Tel Tamr.
Comrade Hasrat Kaber (real name Delsha Maral) opened her eyes to life in a patriotic family from Siirt. Her family, being nomadic, gave her the chance to roam the plains and mountains of her homeland and witness its beauty firsthand. This nomadic lifestyle shielded her from the ills of civilization to some extent and allowed her to live by the moral values of the community. It also instilled in her a meaningful perspective and a determined spirit to confront any challenge, adopting perseverance and victory as her foundation. Inspired by her uncle’s and brother’s commitment to the struggle, and due to the enemy’s attacks and policies against her homeland, she joined the Kurdistan’s Freedom Movement in 2010. Comrade Hasrat Kaber was pure and loyal. With her skills and practical knowledge, she aimed for victory in every task. She carved each moment of her years in struggle with effort, and she has secured her place in our history as a diligent and devoted comrade. The attacks against Rojava Revolution fueled a fierce internal battle within her. She took her place on the frontlines of resistance, later rising to the ranks of martyrdom on May 11, 2016, in Serekaniye while on duty.
In the memory of our comrades Amara, Berjem, Delbak, and Hasrat, we guarantee the continued march of the women’s freedom revolution and will persevere in our struggle until we eliminate the occupation of our homeland. In this spirit, we reiterate our respect for the martyrs of the freedom revolution.
