To Our People and Public Opinion

Throughout the history of our struggle, heroes have emerged who became role models in every moment of their lives and guides in every step. With personalities shaped by the ideas and philosophy of Leader Abdullah Öcalan, they became a bridge toward freedom. Our comrades Tolin Toleheldan and Hala Sere Kaniye, with their passion for freedom and their revolutionary stances, became shining stars illuminating the sky of Kurdistan. First and foremost, we extend our sincere condolences to the founder of the philosophy of free life, Leader Abdullah Öcalan, to the families of our esteemed comrades, and to our patriotic people.
Our comrade Tolin Toleheldan was not merely a fighter; she possessed a strong will and a pure heart, as clear as a spring. She was known among the ranks of the struggle for her diligence and her deep sense of friendship.
She believed that freedom is not merely a goal, but a way of life. Therefore, she carried out every task and duty with great responsibility. From the day she joined the ranks of the struggle, Comrade Tolin joined the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) with great enthusiasm. In every moment of her life, she was a light in the face of darkness and a cry of rebellion against oppression. She was an example of sacrifice for her comrades; the spirit of friendship was present in every step she took. Today, her memory remains eternal in the hearts of all those who struggle for freedom.
Her martyrdom is not an end, but the beginning of a new journey toward victory. The revolution is a journey along a thin line, where every moment is filled with risks and sacrifices. Our comrade Tolin attained the honor of martyrdom while carrying out her revolutionary duty, as a result of a military incident on March 29, 2026, in Al-Hasakah. This martyrdom is proof of the readiness of revolutionaries to defend the values of their people under all circumstances, until their last breath. Although her martyrdom in the incident increased the pain of her comrades, it strengthened their determination to continue on her path. Our comrade Tolin has left us a great legacy of resistance. Her steadfastness in the face of difficulties and her loyalty to the philosophy of freedom are a source of strength for thousands of women and youth today. She always valued friendship above all else. Even in the darkest conditions, her revolutionary determination never faded. Her unfinished journey now continues toward the summit, raising the banner of victory in the hands of her comrades.

In the pages of our history of resistance, the name of every martyr becomes a star that lights our path. Comrade Hala Sere Kaniye, with her devotion to the land and her honorable stance, left her mark on history in the sacred land of Rojava, in the city of Jal Agha. As a noble daughter of this people, she always kept the spirit of Serekaniye resistance alive in her heart. She knew that defending the homeland is not just a duty, but an obligation upon every lover of freedom. Therefore, she worked with love and faith in every place where she served. Our comrade Hala Sere Kaniye was seriously wounded in the village of Sifa, in the city of Jal Agha, and despite all efforts, she attained the honor of martyrdom on March 1, 2026. The wounds that struck her body stand as testimony to her loyalty to the philosophy of “Woman, Life, Freedom.” Until her last breath, she proved that the will of a free woman cannot be defeated. Among her comrades, she was known for her dedication; in every situation, without complaint, she participated in work with seriousness and commitment. She became a source of support and strength for her friends; in her eyes, there was always hope for success. The wound that led to her martyrdom has now become, in our hearts, a promise to continue the struggle. Her unfinished journey now moves forward through the hands of thousands of comrades who follow her path.

The martyrdom of these two comrades is a call to strengthen the struggle, to reinforce the bonds of friendship, and to protect every inch of this land. We extend our deepest condolences, first and foremost, to the families of our comrades and to all our patriotic people. We promise to raise their banner high with victory everywhere. We bow in reverence to their memory and pledge to fulfill their dreams of a free Kurdistan and a dignified life. We honor their efforts and struggle, and all martyrs of freedom. Their path is our path, and our promise is victory.
