Two female fighters undergoing training at the Martyr Rojda Academy in the city of Raqqa spoke about their motivations for joining the academy and the lessons they have received. They affirmed their full readiness to defend their homeland and people and to safeguard the achievements of the martyrs.
Comrade Lîlav Kobani explained the reason behind her enlistment, saying:
My name is Lîlav Kobani. I joined the ranks of the Women’s Protection Units, inspired by the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of freedom.”
Fighter Lîlav Kobani emphasized that her goal is for every woman to attain her right to freedom and dignity. She added:
I will not abandon a single occupied inch of my land, and I will defend it until the last drop of blood in my veins.”
She underlined that women’s freedom is no less important than the freedom of the homeland, asserting that it forms an inseparable part of the struggle for liberation and defense.
Fighter Serheldan Amad also spoke about the profound spirit of comradeship prevailing among the fighters, stressing that this strong bond is built upon the philosophy of Leader Abdullah Öcalan, which unites the different components of society and dissolves the barriers among them.
Amad said:
Despite our diverse backgrounds and communities, we live in the academy as one family—there is no distinction among us. This unity strengthens us and makes us even more prepared to defend our homeland with determination.”
She expressed her great hope for the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Öcalan, describing him as a symbol of dignity and freedom, from whose philosophy they draw the strength to continue their path toward liberty and peace.
At the end of their remarks, the fighters confirmed that the training they have received—both military and political—has prepared them to defend their homeland with all the strength and resolve they possess.
