Women of Kirkî Legê, who have organized themselves under a joint umbrella as civil groups and self-defense forces, stated:
“This is not Raqqa, nor Tabqa, nor Deir ez-Zor. These are Kurdish cities. You will not be able to enter our cities — not unless it is over our dead bodies.”
