The Women Freedom Fighters issued a statement on the occasion of the birthday of Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the anniversary of the founding of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ).
Comrade Barin Afrin stated: “The freedom of Leader Abdullah Öcalan is our freedom. We will continue to struggle and follow his path and ideology until we achieve his physical freedom.”
Comrade Kol Jiya Hasakah said: “The Leader’s birthday and the anniversary of the founding of the Women’s Protection Units fall on the same day because the units were established based on the Leader’s thought and philosophy. As fighters, we follow his path; we will not retreat from our struggle and will continue until we achieve the freedom of our Leader.”
Comrade Akri Ararat also emphasized that “the freedom of women is the freedom of society, and no society can be liberated unless women are liberated. Thanks to the Leader’s thought and the efforts of women, society has progressed.”
They all affirmed that the freedom of the Leader represents the freedom of all oppressed peoples around the world.
