The ceremony began with a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs.

Aisha Afandi, speaking on behalf of the families of the martyrs, said: “Today, we honor our eight heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in Manbij in defense of the dignity of our people and the values of our revolution. The blood of these martyrs is not only the blood of Kobanê or Manbij; it is the blood of all of Rojava and a free Syria.”

Concluding her speech, Aisha Afandi said: “We will continue the path of our martyrs until a free and democratic Syria is built, where the rights of all its communities are protected.”

At the end of the ceremony, the martyrs’ certificates were read and handed over to their families, and their coffins were carried on the shoulders of their comrades.
