We are living through a historic period in which every inch of our land is safeguarded by the blood of the heroes of our freedom. Throughout history, women have led and contributed to great achievements, engraving their names in our movement in letters of gold. Today, the pioneering role of women freedom fighters has become an enduring reality. Our comrades Êlêm Cûdî, Slava Kurdistan, and Êlêm Çiya struggled until their last breaths to defend our land and the dignity of our people, attaining martyrdom at different times and in different places. We extend our deepest condolences to the architect of free life, Leader Apo, to the families of our esteemed comrades, and to all members of our freedom-loving people.
In the struggle for freedom, every comrade who joins the ranks of resistance leaves her mark on the history of our people through determination and perseverance.
Our comrade Êlêm Cûdî was among those immortal heroines who advanced to the front lines with unwavering determination. She was raised in a patriotic family and was deeply imbued with the culture and values of her homeland. She believed that defending Efrîn meant defending the dignity of humanity. Inspired by the spirit of sacrifice embodied by her comrades, she became a symbol of resistance, standing with an iron will in the face of the invaders’ most advanced technologies. Through her commitment to the struggle and her courage, Comrade Êlêm Cûdî secured a place in the hearts of all her comrades, giving those around her strength and courage during the most difficult times. She was not merely a fighter; she was also a defender of the values of freedom, equality, and a dignified life. Her struggle against oppression and darkness became a beacon illuminating our path of resistance. Comrade Êlêm Cûdî joined the caravan of immortals in an airstrike carried out by the occupying Turkish state on the Mabata area of Efrîn on 14 March 2018.
In the Kurdish people’s struggle for freedom, the resistance of Efrîn became a symbol of the struggle for existence and dignity against fascism and occupation. Within this steadfast stronghold of resistance, our comrade Êlêm Çiya, through her sacrifice and intellectual awareness, inscribed her name upon the rocks of Mount Kurmênc as a symbol of Apo’s struggle. Comrade Êlêm embraced freedom as a philosophy of life and social renewal, walking in the spirit of the free woman and democratic society. During the most difficult moments of the invading Turkish army’s attacks, her faith in the importance of defending the sacred land grew stronger, and she adopted an unwavering stance of sacrifice. Raised on the land of Efrîn and deeply rooted in its rich culture of resistance, she made national values the foundation of her life of struggle. Her martyrdom became the beginning of a growing struggle for retribution. Our comrade Êlêm Çiya joined the caravan of martyrs during the resistance of Efrîn in February 2018.
There is no doubt that the resistance of Efrîn in 2018 stands among the most glorious and honorable chapters of this history. Our heroic comrade Slava Kurdistan was among the immortal, shining stars of that resistance. Comrade Slava was a steadfast woman, deeply devoted to the land of Efrîn, dedicating every moment of her life to the freedom of her people and the dignity of women. She refused to accept occupation and slavery. When it came to defending the dignity of Efrîn, she confronted the most brutal forms of violence with an iron will, a mind guided by freedom, and a self-sacrificing heart. Comrade Slava Kurdistan joined the caravan of immortals on the sacred land of Efrîn, demonstrating through her martyrdom that the will of free women and the Kurdish people’s longing for freedom can be realized through struggle. Her life has become an example and an inspiration to thousands of young people who follow in her footsteps today. Our comrade Slava Kurdistan joined the caravan of martyrs in an airstrike carried out by the occupying Turkish state on 9 March 2018 on the village of Kafr Safri, in the district of Cindirês, in the Efrîn region.
We pledge to keep the memory of all the martyrs of freedom alive through our struggle. May the banner of freedom they entrusted to us guide us toward victory throughout the land of Kurdistan, and may we cleanse our land of occupation. May their dreams of a free leadership and a free homeland be fulfilled. We once again extend our condolences to the families of our comrades and to all our patriotic people.
