A solemn memorial ceremony was held in the city of Hasakah in honor of three women fighters of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), who sacrificed their lives and wrote the highest meanings of heroism with their blood.
Hundreds of local residents and community dignitaries gathered at the Martyr Dijwar Shrine.

At the conclusion of this moving ceremony, the Council of Martyrs’ Families came forward to read the martyrs’ commemorative documents. The documents were read in heartfelt words that reflected the depth of the loss and the greatness of their sacrifice, before being presented to the families of the women martyrs in a scene where tears of farewell mingled with pride and belonging.
