Women in Kobani Affirm Continued Struggle in Support of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ)

Hundreds of women took to the streets in the city of Kobani in a mass march in support of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), emphasizing that the force represents the true identity of Kurdish women and embodies their spirit of resistance.

The Kongra Star Council in Kobani organized the march today as part of the March 8 program marking International Women’s Day, in support of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ).

The march was held under the slogan, “With the Braids of Women, the Revolution of Humanity Is Protected,” and saw the participation of hundreds of women, female fighters from the Women’s Protection Units, members of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish), and representatives of women’s movements and organizations. The procession set off from Free Women’s Square in Kobani.

During the march, participants raised the flags of the Women’s Protection Units and Kongra Star, chanting slogans such as: “Long Live the Resistance of the YPJ,” “Resistance Is Life,” “Woman, Life, Freedom,” and “Long Live the Resistance of Rojava.”

The march concluded with a mass gathering at Martyr Aqid Square, where participants observed a minute of silence in tribute to the martyrs of freedom.
