Art Event in Qamishlo in Support of the Women’s Protection Units

As part of the activities marking International Women’s Day (8 March), the Golden Crescent Culture and Art Movement organized an art event in support of the Women’s Protection Units, held at the Mohammed Sheikho Cultural Center in the city of Qamishlo.

The event featured an exhibition of artworks crafted from women’s braids and was attended by dozens of art and culture enthusiasts. Following a minute of silence, Shirin Rashid, a member of the Golden Crescent coordination committee, delivered a speech highlighting the vital role of women and their ongoing struggle.

After the speech, the Darsin Troupe presented a theatrical performance, followed by musical segments performed by the Golden Crescent Band. The artistic program concluded with a performance by artist Sumiya, who took to the stage.

The celebration concluded with dabke circle dances and the chanting of the slogan: “Woman, Life, Freedom.”
