The city of Kobani witnessed a major student march today, with the participation of thousands, reaffirming their commitment to the Kurdish language as a fundamental pillar of national identity under the slogan: “Our Language Is Our Identity  No One Can Deny It.”

The march began in the city center, where crowds of students moved through the main streets amid an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and energy. “Language Is a Symbol of Dignity and Existence”

In a speech opening the event, school principal Muslim Mohammed emphasized that the Kurdish language represents the essence of Kurdish existence, stating:

“Today, in Kobani, we rise because our language is our identity and our dignity. No force can break our will or marginalize our mother tongue, for it is the living witness to our rich history.”

In his remarks, Mohammed also called for intensified efforts to strengthen Kurdish language education across all educational institutions, including schools and universities. He stressed that official and social recognition of the value of the language is the first step toward building a strong, cohesive society firmly rooted in its heritage.

The march concluded with patriotic chants and the raising of flags amid broad public support from the city’s residents. Through this event, participants delivered a message to the international community that free peoples remain deeply attached to their cultural identity and native language regardless of the challenges they face, and that the Kurdish language will continue to live vibrantly in the hearts and consciousness of future generations.
