A delegation of German activists from the campaigns “Women Defend Rojava” and “Defend Kurdistan” visited the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ). The delegation was received by YPJ General Command member Rohilat Afrin, YPJ spokesperson Roxan Mohammed, as well as Destina Halab and Britan Hasakah.
During the meeting, Rohilat Afrin spoke about the development and integration of the Women’s Protection Units, stating: “The twenty-first century is the century of discussing solutions and the century of women’s leadership, and no one can deny or ignore this reality. Women have reached a stage where they recognize their own will and identity. When we began the revolution, our numbers were very small, but from there we have reached where we are today.”
At the conclusion of the meeting, the German activists presented the YPJ with a German-language book titled The Practical Handbook for the Return of Equality as a gift. In return, General Command member Rohilat Afrin presented scarves to the delegation on behalf of the Women’s Protection Units.
