For Us The Martyrdom Of Comrade Hevrîn Is An Edict For Resistance.
Through the resistance, determination and decisiveness of our martyrs, leadership and women’s struggle, who fought unconditionally for the freedom of our people, we commemorate comrade Hevrîn Xelaf with great respect and admiration. We commemorate comrade Hevrîn and all martyrs of the revolution for freedom, and renew our promise to our martyrs.
We express our condolences to the people of North-East Syria, all of humanity and to the family of comrade Hevrîn.
On October 9th, the the opressive Turkish and its mercenaries began their campaign of occupation with the goal of silencing our people’s revolution. This assault was not only on the people of North-East Syria, but also on the values and dignity of humanity.
The Turkish state showed tremendous hostility towards the Kurdish people and its Kudish women.
This attack was developed as a result of a conspiracy and dirty calculations of certain states that seek to prolong the war in our region. The States that gave blessings to the Turkish state’s agression and everybody who remains silent on this occupation, are responsible for the bloodspilling today.
In the last 8 years we gave thousands of martyrs in our fight for defending human dignity. We gave these martys while defending our lands, our people’s existence and values.
During the planned massacre, our comrade and pioneer Hevrîn became a martyr of our resistance of defending our lands. Comrade Hevrîn was targeted with dirty planning and treachery. This attack was an attack on all women.
The Turkish state, with its mercenaries, is showing the same brutality to women that ISIS inflicted on women in Shengal and other parts. And sometimes they are even worse. During Efrin’s battle, the treatment fo our comrades Barîn and Amargî has shown the whole world the dark side of the Turkish state. And today, once again, it showed its agression and mysoginy against women.
We, as the Women’s Protection Units YPJ, will seek accountability for this inhumane attack against all women, which goes against all human values and war ethics. We, the Women’s Protection Units YPJ, shall take up the historic task of standing up to the opressive Turkish state, just as we took our place in the defensive frontlines during the last 8 years’ struggle.
The resistance of defending dignity has reached the fifth day. Our fighters and commanders shall take their place at the frontlines. We shall do anything we can to avenge the co-leader, comrade and pioneer of the people in North-Syria, Hevrîn.
We shall take the path of our companions Ronas Ereb, Ronahî, Nupelda, Siyajîn, Silava, Rêvan, Sorxwîn, Deniz and Nêrgîz (who were pioneers in the resistance of Serekaniye and Gire Spi) and care for the martyrdom of the co-leader of the Future Party. On this basis we call on all women who share comradery, spirit, conscience and womanhood with the women in North-East Syria, to stand against the brutality of the Turkish state and its mercenaries, and raise your voices.
Just as how women in the Middle-East and the rest of the world showed support for our struggle against ISIS, we once again are hopeful that all women will raise their voice sagainst the occupying Turkish state.
We, as women from North-East Syria, will care for our own freedom and dignity. In this resistance, we; as Arab, Assyrian and Kurdish women, shall engage in a historic struggle. As YPJ, we express our determination and we will bolster the struggle and achieve victory in response to the martyrdom of Comrade Hevrîn.
