At the request of the residents, a sweeping campaign has been initiated in the Al-Humrat area, east of Raqqa province, against dormant terrorist cells.
Internal security forces, commando units, the Raqqa Military Council, and Women’s Protection Units have joined forces against dormant terrorist cells hiding within the Al-Humrat area, located 10 km east of Raqqa city. The entire area, spanning 52 square kilometers, has been surrounded from all four sides. Previous clashes occurred between the two tribes, Mijlad Al-Daher and Al-Jamas, in the Al-Humrat area. Following requests from the tribal leaders of both tribes and reports of dormant cells responsible for the escalation and spreading discord in the region, the sweeping operation began at 3:30 AM. The eastern side was cordoned off by internal security forces, Syrian Democratic Forces, commando units, and Women’s Protection Units. As a result, some armed individuals were apprehended with ammunition, and the sweeping operations are ongoing.
