The fighter in the ranks of the Women’s Protection Units, Shams Derik, said, “In this training, I was able to discover my potential to overcome all obstacles in the future.”
In a series of interviews with the trainee fighters at the Martyr Hebun Anteria Academy, the fighter Shams Derik expressed her opinion on the importance of the training she received and her deep insights. She said, “As an Arab woman, I was able through this training to strengthen my personality and mind. I also gained the physical strength that enables me to take my role in the arenas of resistance and battles against the occupying forces. From now on, there are no obstacles in my way preventing me from defending my homeland, my people, and all women.”
Fighter Shams Derik added to her statement, saying, “Thanks to the ideology of Leader Apo, we have reached this level of freedom and can defend ourselves with our own will and aspirations to achieve freedom and communal life.”
She concluded her speech by affirming her commitment to the path of the martyrs, saying, “We pledge to all our immortal martyrs who resisted the brutality of the age and did not take a step back, with all respect, reverence, and gratitude, that we will avenge them, follow their path, and keep their memory alive through our struggle and our lives.”
