Hundreds of women took to the streets in the besieged city of Kobani to defend the achievements of the Rojava Revolution, marching under the slogan: “With the will of resisting women, we will defend the revolution and our existence.”
Shonaf Khalil condemned the act of a gang member who cut the braid of a fighter from the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), stating:
“There are millions of braids. Women began the revolution with their braids, and they continue to resist with them. We will resist and defend the gains of the Rojava Revolution and the existence of women.”
The march concluded with the slogans “Resistance is Life” and “Woman, Life, Freedom.”
