To Our People and to Public Opinion

The toilers of the free life will remain immortal, with all their beauty, in the record of their people’s victories. The women who have adorned their stature with freedom will forever live in the history of humanity. Our comrade Hezel Arjin, as a devoted daughter of Western Kurdistan (Rojava), will remain eternal in the memory of our liberation movement.
First and foremost, we extend our condolences to the architect of the free life, Leader Abdullah Ocalan, to the family of our beloved comrade, and to our entire people.
Comrade Hezel Arjin (Shirin Izzeddin) was born on March 16, 2005, in the city of resistance, Qamishli. She grew like a flower in the soil of the revolution and was raised in the culture of freedom. With her humble character, strong will, and deep devotion to women’s freedom, Comrade Hezel held a precious place in the hearts of her comrades. She united the spirit of youth with the philosophy of “Woman, Life, Freedom” (Jin, Jiyan, Azadî) and in every step she embodied the example of an honorable life.
As her comrades, we take inspiration from her iron will in the face of hardships and from her devotion to the cause and to the martyrs, considering this a great legacy. Comrade Hezel symbolizes the uprising against slavery and represents the march toward the sun. We pledge to realize her dreams of a free homeland and an equal life through our continued struggle. Her path is a guiding light, and her memory will remain alive forever.
Hezel grew up with the spirit of the culture of Qamishli, which in her revolutionary personality transformed into a strong and determined will. She carried the burden of freedom on her shoulders at an early age, proving that youth is the most vibrant stage of uprising. She embodied the will of the free woman and lived the ideology of women’s liberation in every step, believing that the freedom of society cannot be achieved without the freedom of women.
From the alleys of Qamishli to the mountain peaks, her heart always beat with the dignity of her homeland. The spirit of self-sacrifice within her personality created a deep desire to understand and implement the new life. She represented the generation that has taken the philosophy of “Woman, Life, Freedom” as the foundation of its life.
Today, we bow in reverence before the memory of all the martyrs of the revolution. She will live on in every song of freedom, in the ululations of our mothers, and in every weapon raised against occupation. Her path is our path, and her goal is our pledge to victory. Comrade Hezel succeeded in all the duties she undertook, and her vision was always directed toward the “free leadership.” She never accepted defeat. Her constant aim was the construction of a democratic society and the freedom of Leader Apo.
In her way of life, she was extremely natural and humble. Our comrade was like the sea in its depth and vastness, carrying within her the greatness of the leadership’s thought. Following the path of freedom, Hezel was generous in life and devoted in struggle. In the most difficult moments, she stepped forward as a young woman to the arenas of struggle and raised the banner she had inherited from the martyr Arin high into the sky.
Our comrade Hezel was martyred on January 21 while confronting armed groups in Raqqa, joining the caravan of immortals. In both her life and struggle, she was a worthy successor to the martyrs. As protection forces, we affirm that we will continue walking in the footsteps of our martyrs and will not abandon this struggle until victory is achieved across the cradle of humanity and the freedom of Leader Apo.
Once again, we extend our condolences to the family of our comrade and to all our people.
