Collective Commemoration Held for Seven Martyrs in Qamishli

The Council of Martyrs’ Families in the city of Qamishli organized a funeral ceremony today for three fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The martyrs included Aqid Khalil (nom de guerre Doran Qamishlo), who was martyred on August 5, 2024, as well as Majid Korish (Tolehildan Afrin) and Shirmar, who were martyred between January 6 and 29 of this year. The ceremony was held at the shrine of Martyr Delil Sarokhan.

The event also included an in absentia ceremony for the fighter of the People’s Protection Units (YPG), Shirin Izzeddin (nom de guerre Hezel Arjin), as well as for the SDF fighters Khorshid Mahmoud (Diyar Qamishlo), Rizkar Hassan (Sharvan Qamishlo), and Ahmad Khalil (Ahmad), who were martyred between January 6 and 29 of the previous month.

Hundreds of local residents participated in the ceremony, raising photos of the martyrs along with Kurdish flags and symbols. Participants also chanted slogans such as “Martyrs are immortal” and “Long live the resistance of the YPG and YPJ.”
