Female fighters of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) in the city of Kobani celebrated their 13th anniversary and the birthday of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, emphasizing that his thought and philosophy have become global because he struggled for his people, away from personal interests.
Female fighters of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) gathered today at Mishtanur Hill in Kobani to celebrate their 13th anniversary and the birthday of Abdullah Ocalan, raising his pictures and chanting, “Long live the leader’s resistance” and “Long live women’s resistance.”
Upon arriving at Mishtanur Hill, the fighters planted trees amid ululations, chanting, “No life without the leader.”
Then, the YPJ commander in Kobani, Delberin Kobani, delivered a speech during the event, congratulating all fighters, martyrs, their families, and the Kurdish people on April 4. She noted that this day combines two significant events: the founding of the Women’s Protection Units and the birthday of Abdullah Ocalan, which marked a historic turning point and became a beacon illuminating humanity’s path.
She emphasized that Ocalan’s thought and philosophy have become a global ideology because he struggled for his people, away from personal interests, based on the principles of democracy, equality, and justice. This has influenced millions inside and outside of Kurdistan to follow his path.
She added that Abdullah Ocalan is not merely an intellectual or philosopher, but the originator of a free, global thought. Therefore, peoples are drawn to his philosophy and believe in it despite attacks from authoritarian mentalities seeking world domination, considering his thought as the alternative to such mentalities.
After the speech, the fighters performed dabke circles to the rhythm of revolutionary songs.
