On 26 April 2026, under the leadership of Kongra Star, a campaign was launched under the slogan: “We Are All YPJ, YPJ Is Our Existence.” Since that day, a series of diverse events and activities have been organized continuously throughout North and East Syria.
Under the slogan “Woman, Life, Freedom – Together We Will Achieve Victory,” the Golden Crescent Movement, in cooperation with the Culture and Arts Movement in Hasakah, organized a mass public event in support of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ).
The event was held at 4 April Park in Hasakah, with the participation of hundreds of local residents, representatives of women’s organizations, and members of civil society institutions. The venue was decorated with portraits of Leader Abdullah Öcalan, photographs of women martyrs, and flags of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ).
The event began with a minute of silence in honor of all the martyrs of the revolution, followed by a speech delivered by Welida Buti, a member of the General Coordination of Kongra Star, who stated:
“Under the pretext that ‘we do not accept the existence of women’s forces within the Syrian army,’ they seek to break our will. Under the same pretext, and through a patriarchal mentality, they aim to destroy this force that has become a model and an inspiration for the entire world.”
Following the speeches, the stage hosted performances by the Stêra Zêrîn Group from Qamishlo, the Golden Crescent Group of Cirastêrk, the Tolhildan Group from Hasakah, and the artist Sumaya, who presented artistic performances and songs dedicated to the Women’s Protection Units. Participants also formed traditional folk dance circles.
The event concluded with participants chanting the slogan:
“Woman, Life, Freedom.”
