Today, a French delegation carrying a verbal message from president Emmanuel Macron visited the regions of northeastern Syria on Sunday, November of this year. The delegation included Jean Michel Blanquer, former Minister of Education, Youth, Sports and Higher Education of France, and Patrice Franceschi, a French writer, accompanied by Dr. Khaled, representative of the Autonomous Administration in France.
The delegation was received by the General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, the General Command of the Women’s Protection Units, Rohalat Afrin, and the official speaker for the People’s Protection Units, Nouri Mahmoud, at the headquarter of the General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces.
At the beginning of the meeting, the official delegation delivered a verbal message from French President Emmanuel Macron, where the content of the message included an expression of readiness to continue to support the Syrian Democratic Forces from the French side and the partnership between the two parties in fighting terrorism.
The message mentioned the sacrifices and efforts made by the Syrian Democratic Forces in this field, in addition to discussing the current conditions in all aspects in light of the violations and attacks carried out by the Turkish occupation state against the people in the regions of northeastern Syria. In this context, the discussion touched on the recent drone attacks by the Turkish occupation state, the most recent of which was the targeting of the leader in the Syrian Democratic Forces, Farhad Derik. As well as the targeting of the Anti-Drugs Academy of the Internal Security Forces in northeastern Syria.
The discussion also revolved around targeting the infrastructure that meets the needs of people. In addition to the discussion about the recent attacks launched by the Armed terrorist groups affiliated with the Syrian regime in Der Al-Zour and the attempt to create strife and target civilians in populated areas. In this regard, the delegation expressed once again, based on the content of the message, the continued support of the Syrian Democratic Forces from the French side.

During its tour, the French delegation also paid an official visit to the Women’s Protection Units. The delegation discussed with the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) many important topics, including the discussion about the formation of this women’s force that stood up to the terrorist organization ISIS, fought it with all force, and made many sacrifices in order to protect its people. The experience and effective role of the Women’s Protection Units (YPG) in the northeastern regions of Syria in fighting terrorism and defending its land, its people, and all women was also discussed.

For its part, the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Women’s Protection Units welcomed this visit and expressed their thanks for the initiative that France presented to support the Syrian Democratic Forces and stand by their side to combat terrorism represented by IsIs.
At the conclusion, the General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces presented each member of the delegation with a souvenir to express their thanks for this visit.
