People in the city of Qamishlo mourn six martyrs of their righteous sons at the shrine of the martyr Dalil Sarukhan.
On Tuesday morning, December 26, 2023, thousands of people from Qamishlo mourned the bodies of six martyrs in a solemn procession.Their comrades carried them on their shoulders from the martyrs’ refrigerator to the shrine of the martyr Dalil Sarukhan, with patient hearts and steady steps.
The ceremony began with a minute of silence for the pure souls of the martyrs. Followed by several speeches.In a statement on behalf of the PYD, Fawza Youssef declared, “We follow in the footsteps of the martyr Arin. We do not fear the occupier’s attacks; instead, we become stronger because we build ourselves on the foundation of a free truth. Each of us is a free fighter. Just as the enemy is determined to kill us, we, in turn, will fight and resist with determination and defiance. Long live the brotherhood of peoples, shame and disgrace to the enemy.”
Mulla Muhammad Barazi, speaking on behalf of the Islamic Conference, offered condolences to the families of the martyrs, stating, “The names of the martyrs are never erased; they remain eternal. When will the mothers’ weeping cease, when will children sleep safely? Despite the brutality inflicted upon us by the enemy, we stand on our feet and will remain resilient until the last drop of blood in our bodies. The homeland is our homeland, and the land is our land. No one can take it; we will resist with determination.”
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of the martyrdom certificate to the families of the heroic martyrs by the Martyrs’ Families Council. Subsequently, the comrades-in-arms carried their pure bodies on their shoulders to their final resting place.
