KNK Delegation Visits Women’s Protection Units (YPJ)

The Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) continues its meetings in Rojava. The KNK is holding talks with political parties, organizations, and institutions across Western Kurdistan. On May 6, a delegation visiting Rojava met with the leadership of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ).

Co-chair of the KNK, Zeyneb Murad, expressed her pride and honor in their visit to Rojava, stating: “As the KNK delegation in Rojava, we have held numerous meetings and talks with political institutions and organizations at all administrative levels in northeastern Syria. Today, in particular, we met with the leadership of the Women’s Protection Units. This is truly a moment of pride and honor for us, as we consider them a national force safeguarding our dignity, our land, and our country.”

“The presence of the YPJ has brought immense hope to women longing for freedom”

Murad praised the historical role of the YPJ, describing the units as a beacon of hope for women everywhere. She continued: “As Kurdish women, we are internationally proud to have a force of Kurdish women who are fighting on both social and military fronts against occupation. We must never forget that the YPJ has played, and continues to play, a significant and vital role in defeating the ISIS gangs. Thanks to the women’s revolution and their remarkable resistance, this enemy of the world was brought down.”

“We bow in respect and reverence to the sacrifices of these women”

Finally, Zeyneb Murad emphasized that the achievements of women today are owed to the sacrifices of those who gave their lives. She concluded: “We honor and remember all the women who sacrificed their lives, and we bow in respect and reverence to them. In particular, the global recognition that women’s diplomacy is receiving today is thanks to our comrades who worked and sacrificed their lives on the soil of Kurdistan.”
