Yesterday, the Commando Forces of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), in cooperation with the Internal Security Forces, carried out a security operation in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
According to a statement released by the SDF Media Center, ten members of ISIS cells were arrested during the operation, and a quantity of weapons and ammunition was also seized.
The SDF stated that the operation was part of ongoing security efforts to eliminate the remnants of ISIS terrorist cells. The operation was conducted following thorough tracking and the collection of clear and sufficient intelligence regarding the members of these cells, their locations, and the terrorist activities they had committed.
Once the location of the cell was identified, our forces surrounded the area and arrested ten of its members involved in terrorist acts against our forces, civilians, and public service institutions. During the operation, a large quantity of weapons and ammunition was confiscated in addition to the captured terrorists.
Our forces reaffirm their commitment to continuing security and military operations against ISIS cells across all areas of North and East Syria until the group’s material and ideological resources are completely eliminated.
