
The Martyr Arjin Academy has graduated a new class of Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) fighters, named after the martyr Sozdar Derik. The class included 18 fighters from the women and young women of Deir ez-Zor. The training course lasted for 60 days, during which the fighters received various intellectual and political lessons, in addition to military training on different types of light and medium weapons.
The ceremony began with a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs, followed by a military parade performed by the Women’s Protection Units fighters.
In the presence of several commanders from the Women’s Protection Units and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), YPJ commander Sterk Afrin delivered a speech in which she congratulated the fighters on completing their course. She highlighted the major responsibilities placed on the Women’s Protection Units and their vital role in maintaining security and stability in the region.
The ceremony concluded with the fighters taking the military oath.
