Deir ez-Zor… Expanded Meeting to Strengthen Security, Services, and Relations Between Forces and Local Communities in Eastern Deir ez-Zor Countryside

The Military Council in Deir ez-Zor, in cooperation with the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), held an expanded meeting that included tribal elders and intellectuals from al-Busayrah, al-Shuhail, and al-Dhiban. The meeting aimed to discuss the security and service situation and to enhance cooperation between the military forces and the local community.

The meeting was attended by Sipan Afrin, a commander in the Syrian Democratic Forces; Zilan Jasour, a leader in the Women’s Protection Units; Ayyed Turki al-Abdullah, commander of the Deir ez-Zor Military Council; and Majid al-Arak, Director of the Relations Office in the Internal Security Forces in Deir ez-Zor.

During the meeting, both the leadership of the Deir ez-Zor Military Council and commander Sipan Afrin addressed the general situation in the region and the recent security developments. They emphasized the importance of maintaining the security and stability of the area by strengthening cooperation between the forces and the local population. They also highlighted the pivotal role of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Deir ez-Zor Military Council in combating terrorism and eliminating its sources, to ensure continued safety in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

The leaders also listened to proposals from tribal elders, intellectuals, and local residents on ways to improve services and institutional development. They discussed mechanisms for enhancing the educational sector to help build a conscious generation that contributes to the development of the community.

The attendees stressed the national role of the tribes in promoting civil peace and strengthening the social fabric, noting that the strong relationship between the military forces and the local population represents a cornerstone for continued security and stability. They affirmed that unity and joint coordination are the key to a safer and more stable future for the residents of the region.
