A Solemn Funeral for Ten SDF Martyrs in Kobani: We Bow in Tribute to Your Sacrifices
A large crowd gathered in the city of Kobani today to attend the funeral ceremony of ten martyrs of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), in a solemn event attended by military and civilian officials as well as hundreds of residents.
The ceremony began with a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs who lost their lives defending their land and dignity. Attendees later chanted slogans reaffirming their loyalty to the sacrifices of the martyrs and their determination to continue the path of struggle.
In a speech delivered before the crowd, the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, expressed his pride in the sacrifices made by the fallen martyrs, stressing that their dedication and courage played a key role in securing freedom and stability for the region.
Abdi also reaffirmed the commitment to continue working toward the goals for which the martyrs gave their lives, emphasizing that this pledge extends not only to the martyrs but also to all the peoples and communities of the region.
During his address, he said:
“We bow in deep respect to our noble martyrs who gave their lives for our cause, and we promise that we will remain faithful to their sacrifices.”
A Message to the Peoples of the Region
At the end of the ceremony, Mazloum Abdi delivered a message addressed to the peoples of the region and the wider world:
“Today we stand with humility before the bodies of our martyred sons to affirm that their blood was not shed in vain. They were a guiding light for us during the most difficult times. Today we renew our commitment to continue the journey with determination and resolve. We pledge to remain faithful to their principles, to defend the dignity of every human being on this land, and to preserve unity until victory and a just peace are achieved.”

Baz Kobani (Mohammad Mamo), martyred in Deir ez-Zor on January 20, 2026.
Mazloum Amin (Adel Amin), martyred in Deir ez-Zor on January 20, 2026.
Lazkin Kobani (Adnan Khalil), martyred in Deir ez-Zor in January 2026.
Ahmed Tekoshin (Murad Jatin), martyred in Sarrin on January 24, 2026.
Dilsuz Halanj (Mustafa Mohammad), martyred in Deir ez-Zor on January 17, 2026.
Sharvan Sari Kaniye (Suleiman al-Mohammad), martyred in Deir ez-Zor on January 18, 2026.
Mazloum Kobani (Mahmoud Saleh Muslim), martyred in Deir ez-Zor on January 18, 2026.
