Nujan Sardar Amad, a fighter in the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), delivered a message on the occasion of Newroz, addressing peoples across the region. In her message, she emphasized that the spirit of Newroz represents renewal and a unique form of struggle.
She stated:
“First and foremost, we extend our greetings on March 21, the day of Newroz, to Leader Apo and to all our comrades who are resisting and struggling on the frontlines and in captivity. We also celebrate this occasion in the spirit of Kawa the Blacksmith, alongside the families of martyrs and prisoners.”
She added that Newroz, which is celebrated annually, carries profound and sacred meanings for them and for all peoples. She noted that the day of Newroz marks a historic moment of great struggle and an important uprising. “With the spirit of Kawa, the ideas of Leader Öcalan, and the spirit of the martyrs, we elevate our struggle,” she said.
Amad stressed that enemies and occupying forces should understand that they will never remain silent in the face of their actions, nor will they surrender. “Today, we are on the frontlines in Kobani defending our land. With the spirit of Newroz, we will intensify our struggle and take stronger steps forward, especially within the women’s revolution,” she added.
In conclusion, she extended her Newroz greetings to all peoples and to the world.
