Commemorating the Martyrs of Qereçox.

On April 25, 2017, the occupying Turkish state, known for its culture of massacres, launched a brutal attack on Qereçox. In these attacks, dozens of warplanes from the occupying Turkish state killed twenty comrades. In commemoration of our heroic comrades, a memorial ceremony was held this morning on Mount Qereçox. The ceremony was attended by the families of the martyrs, residents of the Jazeera region, fighters from the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), People’s Protection Units (YPG), and the Syrian Democratic Forces, in addition to representatives from social institutions and organizations.

During the ceremony, the martyrs of Qereçox were honored, and several speeches were delivered, including one by the spokeswoman for the Women’s Protection Units, Roxan Mohammad, and a member of the Martyrs’ Families Council, Hevi Sido. In their speeches, they emphasized, “Our martyr comrades are the holiest values.”

Roxan Mohammad stated in her speech, “On the seventh anniversary of the Qereçox attack, we remember all our martyrs. The martyrs of Qereçox and all the comrades who attained martyrdom in this honorable struggle represent sacred values and history for us. They have raised for us a culture of resistance and struggle. They were constantly in a relentless struggle for their people. Moreover, they always worked with continuous effort and resistance to protect their people, the democratic nation, and the brotherhood of peoples, in pursuit of the victory of the women’s revolution. Through these martyr comrades, we remember all the martyrs of the freedom revolution.”

Hevi Sido also emphasized that they will always escalate their struggle in the footsteps of the martyrs.
