The delegation, which included Member of the European Parliament Mr. Younes and the former leader of the Swedish Left Party and current member of its executive board, Ekbon Alp—who is also responsible for the party’s foreign relations—held a meeting with the General Command of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ). The meeting was attended by members of the YPJ Council and its official spokesperson to discuss the ongoing integration process.
During the meeting, YPJ commanders placed particular emphasis on the resistance led by the people and the fighters, as well as on the role played by the Women’s Protection Units in confronting all forms of extremist violence throughout the Rojava Revolution and beyond.
The YPJ leadership reaffirmed their struggle for the official recognition of the Women’s Protection Units in this context, stating: “We, the Women’s Protection Units, will continue our struggle to safeguard all the achievements of women.
